One Way or Another By: Mary J. Williams
I rate this book 4 out of 4 Stars.
I absolutely enjoyed One Way or Another by Mary J. Williams. Calder Benedict has four sisters, all from different fathers. Their mother was not the best, but at least she gave them each other. There are four books in The Sisters Quartet series; One Way or Another, Two of a Kind, Three Wishes (to be released June 25, 2018), and Four Simple Words (to be released September 2018). Each book focuses on a different one of the Benedict sisters.
This is the first book of the series focusing on the second eldest sister, Calder Benedict. Calder was born into wealth, but she is not your typical rich girl. She has a successful charity business and worked hard for her success. Calder meets Adam Stone, a man who was born poor and worked for his money. They are both people who are not into committed relationships, however, when they meet that starts to change.
One of the aspects that I really loved about this book is the sense of family that it has. Although the Benedict sisters have mostly absent parents (including all four fathers), they have each other. The Benedict sisters are very close. They can only rely on each other. They are wary of true love and marriage. This is due to their mother's serial romantic ways which caused her to have six divorces under her belt. The closeness of the sisters brings a good aspect to the book.
The book goes very much into depth of each sister, while still focusing solely on Calder and her relationship. I like that the book goes into so much detail on each sister. It makes it better to understand each character and their connections to one another. Most books would not choose to go into such detail on the side characters. They would rather focus mostly on the main protagonist. These details also would allow the reader to better understand the characters if they decide to go on and read the other books in the series.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good romance novel. Also, if you want to read a story about not just the romance, but the family relationships to the main character this is definitely the book for you. I am very happy that there are more books to the series. I am excited to go on and read the remaining books in the series and enjoy more of the Benedict sisters. This is a very good read!
