Have you ever thought about being able to travel quickly to any desired destination? Superhighway by Alex Fayman is a cleverly written book to do just that in an imaginative way. Alex, the main character, is mysteriously able to travel through the Internet. Orphaned as a baby, he grew up in an L.A. orphanage with Ms. Jenkins, the head administrator being his only caring mom-figure. The teenager finds an attraction to computers and travels through the web tunnels to different States, as well as a few foreign countries.
Alex begins a new way of life as he finds out that he can access bank accounts and top-secret files. He rationalizes that it is not really stealing since he targets criminals’ accounts. He donates to many good causes and lives an extravagant lifestyle. He gets careless and involves himself with several young women, which lead to terrible consequences.
Read the book to find out how this brave traveler has the ability to travel through the Internet, to explore new places, and to make new friends. Find out just how deep he gets into different situations, discovering secrets, and becoming a target.
I do not like how Alex gets over-confident of stealing from criminals and thinks that there will not be any consequences. I least like the use of alcohol, pot, and sex as he handles his new life in negative ways. Though these things affected his thinking and right action, it does not merit a 3 out of 3 stars. It just reveals some reality and vulnerability in the story.
I really like the creative idea to travel through the Internet to different places, almost as easy as pointing and clicking to a location and away he goes! The book has suspense and mystery, compelling the reader to continue reading. I would like to read the next book to find out what happens next. The part of the book that I like the best is the ability to travel to any place very quickly and being able to have a fortune. The book is written well, with a lot of action and suspense, therefore I rate the book Superhighway 4 out of 4 stars.
Young adults and older, who like science fiction and have an interest in imagining what it would be like to have Alex’s abilities will surely like this book the most.
Because of the mature content, young children would least like this book. People who have no interest in fantasy and prefer non-fiction books would probably not like this book either.
