Strong. Independent. Women. Everywhere in this book. What else can a girl in this age ask for?
One Way Or Another follows the story of Calder Benedict, who, despite all the money she possesses, doesn’t let it define who she is and what she does. A headstrong woman, she’ll make you want to be like her. Adam Stone, a charming man, who seems unfazed by Calder’s money, comes into her life to give her the only thing she didn’t have. But, is he actually her chance at love?
There are a lot of good things in this book. The most important one being, the role of Calder’s sisters. The four of them, together, justify the saying, ‘Sisters before Misters’. Although, they are not daughters to the same father, but that doesn’t stop them from sharing a love so very strong. Together, they can do anything. Also, the way the author has given a few sneak peeks into their lives, you’ll want to know their individual stories as well.
The reader might feel at some point that the pace of the story slows down here and there. Importance to people other than the protagonists is also given, like to Calder's sisters' lives, or Adam's mother. But that is just how the author shows the strong relationships that the main characters share with their loved ones. It does nothing else but strengthen the story, and help the reader completely understand Calder and Adam.
There is nothing I did not like about the book. From badass women, to a good plot, everything about this book screams ‘Read Me!’. The reader will enjoy the slow build up of attraction between Calder and Adam. No need to focus on the word ‘slow’, since it adds to the thrill of their relationship. No complaints there!
Towards the end, the reader might not be exactly overjoyed with how things are turning out, expecting more twists than there are in the story. However, the cliff hanger at the end will compensate for the same and will surely leave them wondering.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It deserves nothing less, just because of the fact that the author has shown the protagonist to be ‘The Modern Woman’, and not the usual, shy, girl-next-door. And not to forget the well written plot with an amazing cliff hanger.
Recommended to everyone, even the guys, as this book portrays what a man should, and also what he shouldn’t be like. Good set of role models for the girls.
