[Following is a volunteer review of "Superhighway" by Alex Fayman.]

Superhighway is the first book in the Superhighway trilogy by Alex Fayman. The main character in this book is a teenager called Alex Fine. Alex remains an orphan at the budding years of his life. This happens after he loses all his parents. He is brought up at an orphanage in Los Angeles. Here, he is adopted and then returned to the orphanage a couple of times. This makes him lose hope of ever having a stable family to identify with. He is now like an orphaned calf that has no otherwise but to scratch its back by itself.

While still at the orphanage, Alex discovers on how he can traverse the planet via internet cables “superhighways”. It is interesting to see that he makes use of his ability to steal from the rich and corrupt individuals and he uses the acquired treasures to assist the poor. The philanthropic trait of Alex indicates how he is very much determined to seal the great divide that is separating the rich and the poor.

Traditionally, I do not always fall in love with sci-fis but Superhighway was an exception to me. I at first felt not to read it but after reading one of its reviews by a member of the onlinebookclub.org, I was married to it. Alex Fayman’s great creativity of making Alex travel to various places across the globe will rubber stamp to you that this is a great work of sci-fi. It is the major pillar of this story that shows how the author takes sci-fi to great heights. This story is diverse and unique given the fact that Alex is able to travel to various destinations on earth.

Superhighway has a decorated plot with several intriguing themes. The theme of love and romance is well-developed and irons out this story into a fine work. Erotic scenes are equally available in the “menu” of themes in this book. The sexy scenes are customized to fit young adults. Thanks to the author’s great professional skills of making sexy themes “harmless” to young readers.

The ending of this story is well-done since Alex Fayman ends the story in great suspense. This cliff-hanger where he leaves the story will make you looking forward to grab the successive book in this series after Superhighway. It is well-ended making transition to the next story very smooth.

This story clearly mirrors the sorry state that our world is engulfed in today whereby regimes have not been able to uproot criminal and terror attacks that are now extending their broad ugly wings all over the globe.

Superhighway is recommended to young readers, especially teenagers. Lovers of sci-fi and funs of mystery can also give it an attempt since it is filthy rich in these genres. People who love action can equally grab this book since it has traces of the same. Since this book is a good sci-fi thriller, I gifted it with all the 4 out of 4 stars.

I read and reviewed this one and had a completely different take on it. It's hard to enjoy a story when you have absolutely no sympathy for the hero. And I thought Alex was a self-absorbed jerk. But I enjoyed your review. And I'm always interested in reading someone else's take on things.

Thanks for the review Stanley Ann. I read and reviewed this one as well, and while I agree with most of your post there are a few things I felt differently about. I can agree that the sex scenes weren't too crazy, but there were some drug and alcohol scenes that probably wouldn't be considered "harmless" to young readers by some. Also, you mention Alex's philanthropic trait, but let's face it, he spends a lot of that money he acquired on himself as well. Still though, your review was very well written, and I look forward to checking some of your other ones.

Why did Alex keep going back to the orphanage after being adopted? Again, did he end up getting caught for technically stealing from the rich? The questions I have for this book urge me to read it. Your review is really intriguing.
