One Way or Another: A Friends to Lovers Contemporary Romance (The Sisters Quartet book 1) is about two people finding each other, becoming friends and then lovers. Calder and her sisters believed every man they met wanted them for their money. Then she encountered Adam two times in two days. She thought he was a bouncer the first time she met him; then he was in her house the next morning with painters. Their meetings caused instant attraction and that soon grew to love. Adams friend and former lover, Aurora is determined to come between Calder and Adam When Calder receives a text from Aurora with a picture of Adam holding her it didn’t bother her until she saw her father, her mother’s boyfriend, and the drug dealer to the wealthy in the background of the picture. Is Adam working with her father or one of the other men in the picture? Will this be the end of Calder and Adam?
The author’s detailed description brings the character’s to life. Though this book is mostly about Calder and Adam the reader gets a good sense of the other three sisters, the mother, their fathers, and their mother’s new boyfriend. The reader will fall in love with most of the characters and detest some of the others.
I love the closeness of the sisters in this book. They have one room in the mansion that is just theirs for meetings or just to be together. They have used that room since they were little girls. When one sister had news, good or bad, to tell they would gather in their room to share the details with each other. The support they gave each other made them stronger. Andi, the oldest is a fashion designer, Calder, runs a multimillion-dollar non-profit organization called Erica’s Angels, Bryce, Calder’s twin is a writer and Destry is the youngest, her work is mysterious. I love the reason behind their names, but I will let you read the book to find out what that is!
One Way or Another: A Friends to Lovers Contemporary Romance (The Sisters Quartet book 1) reminds me of romance books by Nora Roberts and Sandra Brown. The way the Calder and Adam meet and the people that try to keep them apart are some of the things that seem similar by the other authors.
My rating for One Way or Another: A Friends to Lovers Contemporary Romance (The Sisters Quartet book 1) is 4 out of 4 stars. The book seems to well edited though I did find a few errors, they did not take away from the story. I would recommend this book to people who love fiction and romance. This would not be a good book for people who do not like romance books.
