Rowan Wood Legends by Olivia Wildenstein is a young adult fantasy novel. The second book in the Lost Clan series teleports the reader to a magical world inhabited by faeries and hunters.
The first three books in the series revolves around a young girl named Catori Price aka Cat. Cat's life took a three sixty degree turn when her mother died. Faeries and hunters invaded her world. She came to the astounding realization that she was part hunter and part faerie. Just when she was trying to cope up with her new lifestyle, everything changed. After being betrayed by a close friend, her trust shattered. The second book picks up right where the first book left off. Cat is determined that she would not pick any side. However, after the death of a loved one, her best laid plans are spoiled. Now, Cat is not sure about anything. The only thing that she is sure about is that she would remain true to herself. Cat's journey continues as she tries to find herself, and understand her new life.
I had a great time reading this book. Cat's first person perspective was quite suitable for the book. This is because it allowed the reader to identify with her, and experience the highs and lows of her life. Mrs. Wildenstein's mesmerizing writing invokes a variety of emotions, and takes the reader on a rollercoaster journey filled with magic, romance, and adventure. Her writing is so vivid that it sucks the reader in the magical world of her creation. The author had introduced two new languages in this series. These languages are Faeli and Gottwa. She had thoughtfully added a glossary of the words in the beginning of the book. I really liked this about the book. I have to mention that I found a few errors. However, this did not disrupt the flow of my reading.
Mrs. Wildenstein does a terrific job at characterization. All the characters in the novel are fleshed out. Cat is a tad stronger in this book. Despite the myriad changes in her life, she did not loose her compassionate nature. She is open-minded, and willing to understand everyone's perspective. Her bond with her father is beautiful. I absolutely loved Ace Wood. Whenever Cat needs him, he is there. He is witty and charming. He hides his pain from the world behind a smiling veneer. The skirmish of wits between him and Cat is delightful.
Keeping in mind everything, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This is because I found Rowan Wood Legends to be an enthralling read. There was nothing that I did not like about the book. The errors I found were minuscule in number, and did not detract from my reading experience. However, I think that people who do not like fantasy would not find this book much appealing. I recommend this book to lovers of young adult fantasy and romance novels.

Welcome.Espie wrote: ↑09 Jan 2019, 00:07 A series of tragedies could really wreak the balance in one's world. It's already a challenge for a magical being like the protagonist. Things could be even bleaker for the rest of us without powers, in both literal and figurative senses of the word. Thank you for your succinct review.

I absolutely love your perspective on it.
