I am a huge fan of vampire stories. I cant get enough of them. I love the YA genre, the thriller aspect of them, the romance, and almost every other part to it. I am a huge fan of the classics, so to say the least I cant wait until I read Interview with a Vampire by Ann Rice. She is a great author, but I have not read that one yet. I tend to lean towards stories on vampires when I read, depending on my mood. So I don't think I will ever get tired of reading them.

I don't particularly seek out vampire stories, but like any type of story, if it's well-written and has a good plot, I'll enjoy it.

Kimberly Raye wrote a series of vampire themed books that's a super fun chick lit read. The series is Dead End Dating and was pleasant in that instead of being full of drama and suspense it had a lot of quirky funny scenarios. Anyone who enjoys the Chick Lit genre and is looking for something different from the typical female lead character would enjoy the series. Happy Reading!!!

vampire stories are interesting and fun to read. However, there have been many vampire stories produces. I think for a story with the same theme, the author must be really creative and imaginative in making twists in the plot for it not to appear similar to other vampire stories.

My thoughts about Vampires is that they are fond of sucking blood from humans. They also prefer internal organs from humans and animals. Also, if they bite some part in the human neck the one they bite become one of them. These thoughts are based on the stories and movies about vampires that I already read and watched.

I think it's important to update vampires for the times. For most of literary history, they've represented repressed sexuality and aggression. Modern American audience don't want to see yet another horror about how giving in to sexuality invites the dark forces into your life, though. It's boring and preachy.

There was a brief blip of mostly removing the "repressed" and "aggressive" sides and having them represent impossibly romantic lovers, but that got old, fast, also.

Probably, vampires need to rest for a little, to let the Twilight wear off of them, and then they should return, representing something that actually threatens modern society.

Vampire stories are kind of overdone. They need to go on a ten year break and then come back. For a minute, we had twilight, true blood, vampire diaries and other vampire stories. It was kind of too much.

I love vampire stories, but sometimes I can get bored of reading about them. That is when I have to take a break from the series or a genre.

Depends on what the vampires are supposed to represent and whether they're supposed to be "evil", "good" or neither.
Common representations: (a) (repressed/aggressive) sexuality, (b) elitism (aristocracy, rich folk), (c) rebellion, (d) nothing.
I never considered vampires to be mysterious or anything like that. Pop culture simply didn't make that possible.

It just depends. I used to love vampire stories. Twilight is still one of my favorites, but I also enjoyed Vampire Diaries, City of Bones, and so on. After a while though, the whole topic just started getting boring to me and I moved onto something else. Every once in a while I will read one, or just read the Twilight series again, but I really have to be in the mood for it.

I have not read this book but have read other vampire books. I find them unoriginal. I feel they are all the same and can easily predict how the story will progress. But, like I said, I have not read this book. One vampire book that I did enjoy was The Historian by Elizabeth Kostava. So if this book claims to be different then I am willing to give it shot.

well about vampire stories ..ehrrr.. i know am gonna sound ooolldd skool about this but am sticking with Bram, lets leave the vamps bad,i think the concept of good and bad vamps works for the money and holly wood, but for me it ruins a good yin-yang mix..lets stick to the van helsing vs Drac thing..still lots of room to create a good read without spoiling the villian

I love vampire stories, but only if they are not in the horror genre. Yes, I might be the only one who didn't re-read Dracula by Bram Stoker, but read two times the whole Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris twice back to back.
