I could not, for the life of me, get through this book. I found the diary format contrived, and many tenses didn't seem to line up. Eric also didn't change much between the beginning and middle(as far as I read to) of the book. He always seemed calm and to know exactly what he was doing. Anyone else dislike the book?

I finished it but it was difficult. It was a tedious read that had so much going on that it was hard to focus on the main story. It doesn't help that I am not a fan of this particular genre.
