February Genre Discussion Help

Post by kio »

Romance is defined as a genre where one of the book's primary focuses is on the relationship and romantic love between two people, and must have an emotionally satisfying and optimistic ending. It can cross into multiple genres.

Admittedly, this isn't my go-to genre, so these are mostly popular titles.

Adult Romance:

1. One Foot in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

2. [amazon= B01BKSLG7G]Billionaire Next Door by Jessica Lemmon[/amazon]

3. [amazon= B007FG9KU8]Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson[/amazon]

4. Dragon Kin series by G. A. Aiken. (more guy-friendly)

Other Series:

Bookshots and bookshots flames series by James Patterson

Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward

Young Adult:

1. Forever, Again by Victoria Laurie

2. ]Frostfire by Amanda Hocking [/amazon

3. [amazon=B01IDGS3FQ]The Romantics by Leah Konen

My favorite this time, told through Love's point of view

4. Secret of a Heart Note by Stacey Lee

5. Looking for Alaska by John Green (guy-friendly)

6. Beastly by Alex Flinn

Kids Books:

1. Beauty and the Beast: Movie Novelization Adapted by Elizabeth Rudnick

2. Candy Smash by Jacqueline Davies

Ooo...I actually have a copy of Beastly that I've been wanting to read. Maybe I'll go with that for this month's genre discussion. Thank you for the idea!

I might also add the Beauty and the Beast: Movie Novelization to my TBR. I might not get to it this month, but I definitely want to read it!

Thanks again, kio!

Looking for Alaska?
The only book in the novels mentioned above but I definitely do love it. ?

All of the reviews I have done for OBC have been in the romance genre and anyone interested can peruse my bookshelves. The majority of the books are romance or erotic romance. I have read or re-read all of these books since joining the OBC in July 2016. They are all still "fresh" in my memory if anyone would like to discuss any of these titles. Two complete series that I have read recently include the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by JR Ward (13 titles) and the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning (7 titles). Great characters in both series.
