I am not really a fan of the books in this genre unless I feel that I'm reading a fictional story and not some authors premonition of how the end days will go down, bringing pieces of the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ and distorting it.

It could be rather scary at times. I live inside the books I read. And honestly before my kids I was fine. But then I think about them and get kind of scared of the thought of losing one of my children.

If you look throughout history you will see a trend of society building up and then being decimated. Something always survives to start over. I love reading post-apocalyptic novels because it shows not only what is left, but what is there to start over.

I have never been a big fan of the post-apocalyptic stories. Personally, I read to get away from the horror that can be the real world and our possible nuclear drenched future. When reading post-apocalyptic stories I get anxious and stressed - especially when an author paints it in such vivid detail and does a good job making the characters relatable. I am one of those people who doesn't want to live through a major nuclear apocalypse because I would be loathe to see what is on the other side of such an event.

I believe us humans, are that close to destroying our home, our planet, our civilization. We are too grid to be living in earth for eternity. We want more of it and it does not have really much more to offer! We want to be better, greater, larger than others and this leads us to creating weapons of mass destruction, deadly viruses, and more pollution. Yeah, we are going to damage this world for good one day. Hope it is not very soon, so our children and their children and the children of their children and so on, get to live on it!

I am not usually a fan of apocalypse stories, but yes I do believe that one day this world will come to an end. Being a Christian, I believe that God will destroy this earth one day and make us a new earth. This could happen at any time, but some say that there have been signs of this beginning to happen for many years. So who knows when that time will come.

I do enjoy post apocalyptic stories. There is a constant sense of urgency and primal attitude that gives them a hard and grungy sort of feel which is fun! Those kinds of stories mean all the rules that we have ingrained in our minds no longer apply and a the characters often survive by what they think is good for them. So it's interesting to me to see how a character develops from a rule abiding citizen to an anything goes survivalist.

I really enjoy dystopian novel as long as they have a point. I'm not a fan of zombie stories or just blood and gore. I like books that make you think.
I think 1984 is still the best dystopian novel of all time

I am a fan of the genre, but sometimes I struggle with the likeliness and realness of the stories. A lot of stories tend to take away from realistic ideals and are hard to believe.

Honestly, I don't have much experience with this particular genre. However, the few books I have read within this genre are usually insightful and thought-provoking

I think the post apocalyptic genre is a great method for shedding light on truths about our current society. There's a reason we can still relate to characters in these stories despite the fact that they are theoretically living in an unrecognizable world--a lot of these stories speak to the faults our current civilization extremely well.

I enjoy post apocalyptic stories because it gives the author so much range to show their imagination. If the world or civilisation came to an end I believe it would be from a nuclear attack

I'm a fan of the genre, but I think they're just ideas of an ending world from different people's opinion.

What are your thoughts on this genre?
Do you think that civilization will collapse one day?
If yes, then due to what will that happen or how much time will it take?

Do share your thoughts on this topic. :D :tiphat:
I do not believe in apocalyptic thing. so i do do not read about them that much but it depends on the writer he/she is good whatever the genre be at the end the story will be good .
