First of all i will look for eatables and other daily necessities like clothes and medicine. Afterwards i will take a small item which will remind me of the good days, anything luxurious.
What is the most special thing I did today- I was MYSELF. Happy and in love and unapologetically myself.

Food would be the obvious top priority, then clothing/shoes, as I can imagine everything you'd own after 15 or so years would be basically in tatters. After that medicine, and any sort of sanitation/hygiene products, as they'd probably all be in located together. Finally I would search for literature of any kind, anything that I could comfortably carry. Especially with access to online or electronic reading, I think books have become something we take for granted, instead of viewing them as the luxury they are.

If I found myself in this situation, I would look for things that would increase my knowledge. For example, I am not that good with memorizing places so I would definitely look for maps. Another example of what I would look for is books. This is not just because of my love for reading but because of the lessons and insight we gain from books.

I have actually thought about this so many times. A lot would depend on how far I have to carry everything back, what I had to transport it with, and what I was in desperate need of.

Most important things:
-medicine, bandages, medical stuff
-stable food
-ammunition, weapons
-fabric, clothing

After that, if I have room, hygiene products, books, anything that can be used for something needed (wire, string, etc.)

I make a lot of things around our home from other things. I'm a bit of a gypsy and live in a rural farming town on a mountain, so I can be quite creative!

Food will be the first on the list. Then I'd look for medicines and clothes as well. Knives will also be useful.

I would look for food, clothing, toiletries and blankets. Any camping materials would also be a great find! I would also look for backpacks to make carrying everything around with you.

I would be searching for food, medicine, warm clothes and blankets, weapons, flashlights, batteries and if I could I would try to scavenge gas from cars to put in my car. I would still like to be able drive from point A to point B.

I would definitely look for necessities like food, clothes, and tools. For tools, I would look for a knife to defend myself with or even a gun if there is one. I would also try to make the house into a suitable shelter.

I'd look for things that are well made and can help me make/repair other things. Food is great, but seeds are better (if you have a place to stay in for a season). Clothes are also great, but so are sewing kits. Perhaps that's just because I'm crafty.

I would look for food, clothing, first aid kit, and some weapons for protection. I also look for things that can connect me to the previous world

Like many post before me, I would look for food, weapons and clothes. However I think I would also try to find books or playing cards which can be used for entertainment and fire starters. Maybe artwork, I love art and wondering if it's small enough to carry it could be a happy reminder the way the remote seemed to August or the magazine was to Kristen.

Food, clothes and other essentials. Basically what everybody else has said.

Obviously, or at least what I would think is pretty obvious is food. Whether you needed to update your expired food, or if you have enough, then eat saving your current food. I would look for newer clothing, not only to fit the weather, but also to replace clothes that were worn, torn, and otherwise becoming useless. Medicine to me sounds like a given and weapons to carry as well.
Off the wall items, a tarp. I have found that in all my camping experiences and dystonia novels tarps come in handy for everything. Shelter, warmth, water collection, clean surface, etc.
It's Always Worth the Read.
