Was the ending a cliff hanger or not?

In my opinion, the ending isn't a cliffhanger, but rather a brilliant build up and premise for its sequel. The first book focused on the mishaps in Raven's Peak and that mystery was solved and done with. The events that follow are merely to build anticipation for the next book!

The ending for me is a cliff hanger. There are some mysteries that remain unanswered and only one mystery was solved and revealed at the end of the book.

I completely agree. No cliffhanger. It's the hook to build anticipation and pull you into the next book.

I don’t think it was so much a cliff hanger as it was a hook to make people want to read the next book in the series. It made me want to, anyway.

There are mysteries I was expecting the author of this book to to clarify, which he did not. I honestly think the ending was a cliffhanger.
