I agree with you, gali. I don't believe in possession and exorcism for evil acts. I think this sums up my thoughts exactly: "I think that blaming evil spirits for evil acts takes the responsibility from our hands."gali wrote: I don't believe in them myself. I do, however, believe that there are mentally unstable people that may do unkind acts and not really understand what they are doing.

I'm the same way with movies and books. After reading, "Raven's Peak," I will confess that the thought of demons was on my mind for a moment. I started thinking the book made me more spiritually aware.Guppy wrote:I don't believe in evil spirits, possession or exorcism. That doesn't stop me from looking over my shoulder while reading a scary book about them though!

I think they are responsible to an extent. If they really don't want to not do evil, they can expel the demon themselves through sheer might. Some people are spiritually and morally weaker than others and are incapable of doing so. They still hold some responsibility for their actions but the demon inside them will make them do far worse things then they would have done by themselves.kandscreeley wrote:A lot of people are saying that being possessed by a demain makes that person not responsible for their evil deeds. I don't believe that. I think that somehow they are still responsible even though we can't quite understand that.

I liked that movie, though it wasn't very popular overall. I love scary movies, and I think the movie The Rite really freaked me out the most.Donnavila Marie01 wrote:I do believe in exorcism not just because my culture tells me so but because there are things which cannot be explained by empirical method of thinking. There are illnesses which cannot be cured by advanced medicine which exorcism can. This question reminds me of the movie, "The exorcism of Emily Rose".
