All time favorite supernatural book/series/movie?

Post by MarisaRose »

Raven's Peak certainly falls into the supernatural/thriller category. I've always enjoyed the supernatural thriller genre both in literature and TV/film. Some of my all time favorites are anything by H.P. Lovecraft and the television show The X-Files.

What are some of your favorites?

My favorite supernatural series is The Magicians (if that counts). I also enjoy reading the Sookie Stackhouse Mysteries (from True Blood). Those books are packed with different types of supernaturals.

I am a huge supernatural fan! I read a lot of teen fiction. Overall my favorites are anything by Charlaine Harris who is the author of many great books! Her Midnight Crossing series is a lot like Ravens Peak!

I am a big supernatural fan! I have to say I really enjoy the Riley Jenson series by Keri Arthur!! That series is what made me start reading again. Also, I have to say I enjoy The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, and Charmed!!!

I can pick so many and then after a few days I change my mind. We have so many good authors, filmmakers and storylines that it makes the decision of picking just one to be very hard to do.

I did like the tv show charmed. I have read quite a few supernatural books. I can't decide what my favorite would be.

I know, it was charmed and Buffy the vampire slayer. Always enjoyed both and then it seemed like more and more started coming out.

My favorite pick on supernatural novels would be The Dead Beautiful series by Yvonne Woon. Back in 2010, in India, there was a daily soap based on Twilight which was my favourite.

I liked: "A Discovery of Witches" by Deborah Harkness, "Undead and Unwed" by MaryJanice Davidson, "Unspeakable Acts" by Janet Leigh Green, "Escape Clause" by GA VanDruff (I reviewed the last two). There are more, but I don't recall them right now.

Used to love Charmed when I was a kid, now I like The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, that's packed with all sorts of supernatural characters. Shadow hunters, the TV remake of The Mortal Instruments series reminds me of old school Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
As for books, True Blood was very good, supernatural mystery with a very well thought out world and all sorts of "supernaturals"

Loved the X-Files! My all time favourite supernatural stories would be Anne Rice's vampire novels, they cover so many supernatural topics apart from vampires.

I also really liked the Skokie Stackhouse series! Now that you mention it, some of Harris' writing reminds me a lot of Raven's Peak!

Harris' Harper Connelly mysteries are also good but the only real supernatural element is Harper's character and her "gift". Still good crime novels though.

I also really enjoyed "A Discovery of Witches" ! I thought the author put a nice spin on the typical supernatural characters.
