Old Town of Raven's Peak

You stumble across an old abandoned city in the woods. It's not a tourist destination. No one is around. It's clear that no one takes care of it, and no one visits. Do you explore as did Bret? Do you run away? Do you think it's realistic to think a boy of Bret's age would have continued on after finding such a location?

I would run away unless I was in a group! Not because of fear of any ghosts, but because it may be dangerous to walk there due to its state. Also, maybe someone hides between the ruins. I think it is realistic to think a boy of Bret's age would have continued on, as boys that age are curious and can act a bit silly.

When I was little I would have loved to explore places like that. There was one I knew of in West Virginia by the river that you could get to through a campgrounds and me and my brother went there quite a bit when we were little.

I think, now, I would explore around the edges of the town. I don't think I would go in any of the buildings. When I was a child like Bret, I doubt I would have been daring enough to go exploring, but I believe that it is realistic to think a young boy would. They are often daring and adventurous.

I was kind of an easily frightened child. I probably wouldn't have explore the town. I would have been more scared than curious. I also think it was realistic of Bret to do it though. Most children are curious and daring... I wasn't!

I think I would explore if I had someone else with me, for safety reasons. I believe it's realistic that someone like Bret would go exploring.

I think back then when I was Bret's age I would have gone exploring. I was a big tomboy and nothing scared me. Now, I probably would not have unless I was in a group because the way it was described in the book gave me chills, and I think I would have been to scared.

I usually explore an abandoned old place if I am with a group. I run away as fast as I can if I am alone even if it is during the day. The story of Bret is another story because he is the chosen one.

Yeah, I agree that places like that are incredibly creepy! That's sort of the fun, though. Maybe I'm just odd!

I would have run away as fast as possible! But they chose a good character with Bret, bored and curious enough to be a little bit more adventurous

Exactly so! A boy at Bret's age would gladly explore a small abandoned town if he came across it. There can be so many interesting things! :P Of course I'm speaking about an average boy, not about a timid one with no interest in adventures.

As for adults... It depends on personality. If I find an abandoned town near my camping, I dash to it with a camera in hands. Unfortunately it is almost impossible. At first I should change my camping location. Furthermore I don't believe in demons :roll2:

Yeah, this would be a central point for a lot of people. If you aren't afraid of things in the shadows, then it's easier to approach a scary place with little repercussions.

Haha, I would take a friend! A camera isn't going to be good company! I've seen scary movies!
