Amagine wrote:When I saw the book cover, for some reason, I was reminded of Edgar Allan Poe. Especially since he has a famous work titled, "The Raven." The chilling, dark cover seemed like it would've perfect for any of his poems or stories.
This is exactly what I was thinking. Or even one of those old paintings that has a stack of very old books, melted candle, dying flowers and the ever present skull. Every time I see the cover it makes me think of Victorian crimes, like Jack the Ripper. I agree with the first post, the artist deserves props for creating it.

That cover is so Poe, it's unbelievable! I understand that a lot of people can't afford very elaborate book covers, but it says so much about the author's dedication to the themes of his novel. Covers certainly matter, and with art as well thought out as Lincoln's you know the content is superb.

The phrase "Don't judge a book by its cover" was thrown out of the window for me when I saw this book. XD. Its chilling, it gives out this ominous presence about it and it looks pretty intense. All of which I adore its design.

I haven't read this book but the book cover certainly drew my attention and I do want to read it. It looks quite scary and and bit mysterious, and I like how the cover directly links to the title because that can often be an issue with books. I think that the font is a tiny bit generic and I know that this can put people off because they think that is not professional.

As I designer myself, I agree. The quality is very good, sometimes good books don't get a fair treatment and end up looking cheap and amateur even if they're good in content. This one makes a good case for the book and conveys some of the atmosphere of the universe in it. I know that for myself it was one of the reasons I got excited to read it.

I like when authors put effort into their artwork for their book, it has to be intriguing from the first moment you pick it up.

The cover is certainly very professional, and the relevance to the title is apparent. I personally prefer covers with some level of abstraction where the relevance of the cover becomes obvious only after you read the book, but this is still a good cover.

The book cover is what made me add this book to my bookshelf. Its awesome! The use of dark shades and black -it's intense! I hope it's as great a read as it's cover makes it out to be. talk about judging a book by it's cover! :D

I also love the book cover, it does go well with the book. Also, it reminds me of an Edgar Allen Poe cover.

I was caught up by the cover too and that was the reason I eventually decided to read this book. The cover does capture a sense of foreboding and scariness and makes you want to open the book and jump in.

The cover was what originally drew me to the book. It does seem like something you would see as an old horror movie poster, and from what I read so far, it definitely fits the book's theme. I hope the cover isn't better than the whole book, but I'm still reading to find out!

when I saw that book cover, I was like I have to read it. It was like the raven was looking into my soul. It was literally like come read me. One of the best book covers I've seen.
