Our past is a part of how we handle our present situation and how we face the future. But clinging to it won't do any good because every time we remember it, we fall into a depression state where we always think of what we should have done back then. We will always feel guilty instead of accepting and moving on. It would take sometime to get on with it but that is much more better than running away from it and avoiding the issue of that past.Chrys Brobbey wrote:From the story, Abigail at a point in time is compelled to face her role in a tragedy from the year before. The lesson this teaches is that we cannot run away from our past deeds forever. We need to confront and settle outstanding issues bogging our past, and then we can move on into the future without being haunted by our past.
