The lesson that this book teaches us is that we should accept people irrespective of our differences and we should learn to embrace change. The changes that occur around us every day, we should accept them.

Very true! Most kids don't automatically pick out the lessons in stories and need some guidance. Books need lessons, even extremely subtle ones. Books can be entertaining and still leave a message behind.
