What was your favorite aspect(s) of this read?

In what ways, do you think, can this children's book be improved?

I think I liked how much diversity there was among the characters. You have got humans, a kitten, a bunny, and a giraffe. Each have to learn to get along with each other in order to live together peacefully and become friends. This book is a good lesson on how we should all learn to try and get along with people no matter what the situation is. Learning not to be so judgmental and to give people a chance is a good lesson to learn when children are young because you never know what kinds of special friendships they could develop because of that lesson.

My favorite part was all the lessons that can be learned from the book. Someone mentioned diversity and I also loved how diverse the characters are.

My least favorite part was the illustrations. I can't fully explain it but I didn't like them too much. There were some that looked poorly drawn to me. There were a few of the illustrations that I liked though.

I also loved the themes in this book - very relatable and realistic, and the diverse animals was smart to do as well.

It would be pretty cool if the author wrote a book in this series that includes an animal with some of the disability to broaden children's acceptance even more.

I agree! I really feel like the illustrations in this book could be improved a lot.

I like the themes and the lessons.

I did not like the changing viewpoint: first we read from the farmer's perspective then Kailey's, then back to the farmer's and finally back to Kailey's. It wasn't terrible; I just wonder if it could have been written differently.

Another favorite part of mine was seeing all the animals become friends with each other despite their differences.

Hm...I actually didn't even think about that, but that's a good point. The story's viewpoint did change, and I wonder if the author could have either just made the viewpoint of the animals throughout or somehow go back to the farmer and his wife's perspectives?

My favorite part was when the author was narrating the playful spirits of the kittens while the couple was watching them. This makes me wonder of the nature of the playful nature of animals, free from doubts and worries.

Another least part about the book was the fact that we didn't see much of Bamma in the story but we saw Farmer Beau a lot. I know he is the titular character but it would've been nice to see Bamma working outside with her husband instead of in the house.

I was just thinking about how I would have liked to see Bamma outside working with her husband more. I feel like if my husband was a farmer, I would want to spend at least some time helping out with some of the outside labor. When we had a garden, we would work together in tilling the soil, cleaning up the area, planting the veggies, watering, and continually weeding the garden.

I like that you said that the two of you would work outside together. Rather than you both having separate roles or jobs, you work together outside and you work together inside. There's no separation based on gender roles or whatever. In my personal opinion, it is the true definition of equality.

This is my favorite aspect of the book, too.
As for improvements, I agree with those who say that the illustrations could be better.

I think that a few more pages expounding the relationship that the 3 animals came to have after the first night could have been a beneficial addition to the book. I hardly got to know the giraffe.
