My first book was The Secret Seven. I fell in love with reading books after reading it.

My son's preschool teachers seriously told me my child was a genius because he was reading the hardest books they had available... He was 3. He pretty much taught himself. I just read to him a lot.CaitlynLynch wrote: ↑05 May 2017, 17:30 I don't know exactly which one it was, nor do I remember the incident in question, but I was a precocious child and my mother taught me to read well before I went to school. On my first day at primary school, she told the teacher I could already read and the teacher tried to get me to read a 'Peter and Jane' picture book. I rolled my eyes at her, and she told me to choose a book from the shelf and read that instead.
Apparently, I selected one of Enid Blyton's Famous Five books and read the whole first chapter aloud, without mistakes. I was four.

Even after joining work, I bought a copy of the book to add in my collection as a meaning and rememberance for how it all started my reading journey
