What is the first book you remember reading?
Reflecting on this book, how is similar and/or different from Farmer Beau's Farm? Was it a picture book? What was the genre? Were the main characters animals, humans, or both? Do you still have this book?
Most importantly, what makes this book memorable?

Oh my gosh!! Yes, I had a number of them too. I loved The Poky Little Puppy!! I completely forgot this adorable puppy. I read it all the time! I actually don't know if I could find this book. If it's still around, it would be at my parents' house. I should look into this. Thank you for the great reminder!Steph K wrote:Does anybody remember Little Golden Books? I had a bunch of those and I they are the earliest books I can remember. The Poky Little Puppy was a favorite.

Apparently, I selected one of Enid Blyton's Famous Five books and read the whole first chapter aloud, without mistakes. I was four.
