I think that farming is an important part of the economy. The farmer grows products locally which helps keep the prices lower for the consumer, which allows them to buy more of said product. That allows the farmer to make more money to put back into his farm for the following year and the process starts all over again.

I don't think that farming is the backbone of the economy. It is definitely the consumers, the people that spend their one two cents here and there.

Farming is definitely one of the backbones of economy (not sure if this makes sense). Though, depending on which country, farmers are abused and given extremely low wages. They're no different from the factory workers, but both of them are important.

I am an agriculture student and I am bound to admit that farmers are indeed very noble professionals. They not just hold the core position of economy but also generate food for the whole living population.

I agree with Shreyoshi seen. Farmers hold a core position in the economy. Unfortunately, like Raikyuu said, most farmers in our country are abused. Some had to work the whole day for very little pay and only the land owners become rich (without working hard). I believe it's unfair especially in a country where rice, for example, is one of the most important food which makes the farmers one of the most important contributors in the economy.

I believe that farmers are the back bone. The food on our table is due the their toil in soil. If the farmers are happy in a country it means the country is prosperous not just in wealth but in health too.

Farming is indeed the backbone of the economy. If people don't eat how will they have the strength to be productive in all other areas?

I don’t think farmers are appreciated the way the should but I also don’t think they are the backbone of the economy.

Yes i agree that farming is the key to economic growth , and a means to be self employed and creative, besides the government can't pay everybody.
