Superhighway is a sci-fi / fantasy novel as we are introduced to a main character who can travel through computers.

Sci-Fi and Fantasy are popular genres. I'll even go as far to say that they are the most popular genres in fiction right now.

I'm more of a fan of contemporary but I want to know your opinions. Do you like these genres? If you do, what is it that draws you to it? If not, what do you not like about them?

I love the sci-fi and fantasy genre! I know all books tend to take you into another world, but for me these genres do it better than any other. I also feel it lets author's really demonstrate their imagination, and if I read a good sci-fi book it is like I have been pulled into their world. Love them!

I love love sci-fi and fantasy. What draws me in is the surreal world. The what if factor of them both. Of course, a good plot line is required.

I enjoy both genres or even when they merge together.
I enjoy science fiction. A couple of my favorites are Ender's Game, the Star Wars books, 2001 a Space Odyssey etc...
However, I also really enjoy fantasy. Tolkien is one of my absolute favorites.

I would say yes, but more in films and TV series. Tried to seriously get into fantasy a while back, but that did not work out. Occasionally I read something from those two genres, but mostly I stick to dramas and mysteries.

Yes. I would say they are my favorite genres. I think because I love to see what others think of the future. I love to be able to get outside myself while reading, and this is the most far away from yourself you can get (usually.)

Absolutely yes. In part it is because it has the ability to stimulate my own imagination by reading the works of others. In this regard, I like it when an author creates a new world that I am drawn in to explore. It is also a genre that works well with developing ensemble casts in pursuit of a common goal.

I love the genre because it can place humanity in unique situations, stretches the imagination, and focuses on the future.

I love both genres, Sci-fi for the future technology and fantasy for the entirety of the world building. I think that is my absolute favorite part is the world building. Our imaginations are amazing when it comes to things we make up.

I love the genre because it relaxes me. It exercises my imagination of places unknown and of impossible to become possible.

I don't like this genre too much. As stated earlier, I'm a fan of contemporary fiction. The more real it is the better. I'm not big on fantasies or anything to do with science.

I love fantasy genre because at least if I am engaged with the book or with the movie, I can escape reality and I will enjoy the other dimension.

I am not a big fan of the sci-fi or fantasy genre. I guess it somehow deludes my imagination or so I feel. I love contemporary, historical fiction and YA or such genres close to reality. But yeah, I started out with fantasy series of Harry Potter but I haven't found a book or series like it in the genre.

I love sci-fi and fantasy. I love the worlds that are created and the situations. I love my fiction to be an escape from the real world and sci-fi and fantasy do that very well.

I agree these seem to be the two biggest genres overall. I am personally not a fan of these genres though - I prefer something more realistic and grounded in real life - just a personal preference. I do like some scifi and fantasy stores, but overall, they're not the first ones I seek out for a story.
