Yeah, we just read this in school. It was the favorite of the short stories we've read, so when we had to write a paper this is the one I chose.
I love Poe's work, it's all so dark and thoughtful.. definitely makes you think.

My favorite of Poe's short stories. I love the suspense as they work their way down the crypt, and how the narration keeps on pushing by mentioning the amontillado I made a reference to this story a couple days ago at my work, but no one caught it which made me sad :(.

Try reading the short stories of SAKI, his real name being Hector Hugo Munro. Born around the turn of the century. Very strange, but very clever turn of ideas, one of my favorite authors...

A favorite of mine next to The Black Cat. I enjoyed reading it and hearing the audio version last year. :D

I haven't read this in such a long time...I love this. I am actually looking for a collection of his works.

Poe's great. Cask of Amontillado, The Raven, and Tell Tale Heart are my favorites.

Exactly spot on! And the fine thing about Poe's writing is that you can get a little more out of each story every time you re-read them.

I love Poe's work. Visuals that last a lifetime. I remember during a Creative Writing Course having to take this story and re-write it from the (misfortunate) perspective of Fortunato. Complete with internal dialog. It was an interesting assignment.

Ah yes... The Black Cat was one of his best. I also loved The Raven and The Tell Tale Heart. I actually have a DVD of The Tell Tale Heart that some british director (not very well known and can't remember his name)had made, but the man portraying the butler was positively amazing!

I had forgotten the eerie-ness of this story and how much I loved it. I had received a Poe collective book when I was (long time ago) and it had illustrations in it that have haunted me for years... I remember the scene of the man being walled in...chills me still.

The life of Poe is a tale of horror in itself.

I read this for my English 11 class. It's not as freakishly dark as Edgar Allan Poe's other works, though :|

I just remembered a little song that used to play in my head. It goes "The Cask of Amontillado, tillado, tillado" and repeats infinitely.
