I've always loved the darkness, the morbidness and the sound descriptors that Poe uses in his short stories, especially in this story. You can tell by the sounds, the interjections and the pauses, how the story progresses and then all of the sudden, the last act is solidified.
Positively Seas the Day,

This is an excellent story, along with other E.A. Poe originals. His irony and puns are so good. I've had the privilege of teaching this to high school students, and the projects they come up with for these stories are out of this world.

I used to teach this one (high school) and it was always a hit - fun to teach!

Count me in for this book! The unfolding of the story's narrative is something I'm eager to explore.

I think Edgar Allen Poe and Arthur Conan Doyle are the two writers that made me love the crime, mystery, and thriller genre so much!
I enjoyed rereading this short story by Poe!
