You failed to see the connection of the two maybe because you do not like the songs of Adele or maybe you do not like the genre of the book.

I had never listened to any of Adele's songs. It wasn't because I don't like the artist or her works. Rather, I was into different kinds of music (EDM, experimental, classic rock and so forth). However, today I have just finished 'My Trip to Adele' and I admit the book have changed my musical taste. I never knew Adele's songs are very grounded and relatable. They reflect a great deal of our lives emotionally and spiritually.

Even now as I'm writing this comment, I'm listening to "Hello" and I'm really enjoying it. I guess now I owe 'My Trip to Adele' a big gratitude for having widen up my horizon on music. Of course, I don't have to point out the fact that it is a very good book and that I recommend people to read it.

Adele's songs also pushed me to read the book books because I got curious how the authored put everything in place including the characters.

I'm not from the UK but have heard her music before reading this book. I have to say I got a bit disappointed that Rolling in the Deep didn't make it to the list :P

This book obliged me to listen again to the songs of Adele because I wanted to know which of her songs did the others pick the lines in the story.

Some of the songs of Adele may appear boring because they are too emotional, or sometimes, the lyrics are repeated several times. Still, I love most of her songs.

Good advice! I listened to her songs after I read the book and liked some of them.

I sort of agree with you, I wouldn't say I skipped the parts but there were some I did feel were forced in and not needed.

Definitely, while I was reading the book I was wanting to play the songs that were associated with each chapter.
