Yes. I like reading books about places I've never been to because I like learning about different people, places and cultures.

I most definitely love reading a book that thoroughly describes the places the story is takin place in. It helps me to picture what I'm reading about and helps me to imagine if I would like to visit those places some day.

I seem to only read books about places I've never been. I love world literature, and am thankful I get to teach a class of it to high school students. I try to remind them that no matter where we are, what we speak or believe, we all still love, hate, feel passion, fear, and all just try to live our lives. Still, it is very humbling to try to immerse myself into a new culture or society.

Bonus: I've read Frank McCourt's memoir called ANGELA'S ASHES, and though it is very dark I loved it and still want to visit Ireland.

My reason for reading books about places I've never been is because I have only had the means to travel very little in my lifetime! I've especially enjoyed Albert Camus and Arthur Nersesian's books, although for different reasons. Camus shows you what it's like for the individual to live in foreign countries during much different timelines. Nersesians books describing New York in the 80's absolutely thrill me by feeling the attitudes of his characters in the city. I would much rather read about places I've never been than fictional or sci-fi environments. Just my take on it! I really enjoyed your question OP!

When I read Pasricha's The Happiness Equation, it was said that it is good to read in different places preferably in every chapter so that the details in the book is ingrained within our minds and this would help to absorb and feel more on what the author is trying to say. I am pretty bad at remembering things and I use this tip whenever I took up a book.

I enjoyed reading about travelling. I love to travel many places or countries but since I can't afford it yet I'm quite contented of reading books that has a story about adventure in certain places... I feel like I also there and it gives me ideas about how beautiful or what kind of place there.

Personally, I love reading about places never travelled! My body is aging, meaning there isn't the health there once was. Reading about places especially when a good murder mystery is in the process of detecting, let's me become a part of the resolution in solving the case!

It gives me immense pleasure always when I read book of any other country or culture. It makes me feel dragged into the story and those places mentioned in the book. I fell like visiting those people and places. Therefore, the book immediacy was really liked by me.

I love reading books about places I've never been because I know that my love of going to places is limited by my financial status. I can go to foreign places but not as regularly as I wish. My solution is to read about beautiful places and enjoy the imaginative ride.

I enjoy reading books about places I have never been because that is a part of the adventure! Plus a talented author will make it feel like you are actually there with the characters. I have found that when reading books about a place I have never been - even a fictional place or new dimension or galaxy, that I fill in holes where I just cannot imagine what it would look like with familiar places in my mind.
