I don't think you should rate a book till you finish it.

I am also dubious about mixing narrative with song lyrics and have seen this done clumsily more often than not. I suspect my tastes are similar to your own, although I would be interested to read some more positive reviews to get a balanced impression of this book.
Thank you. The book isn't too preachy. There are many reviews on the book, and some are more positive than mine. :tiphat:

I've finally decided to read My Trip to Adele. I didn't care for the cover. It made it look boring, but I liked the reviews on it. Then I read a sample and really like the author's writing style so I'm diving in. I'll be back to give my rating and opinion when I'm done.

I found the book a great read and rate it 4 out of 4 stars. I think the authors did real well in telling the three stories and making these stories fit the songs. Reading the book was a different experience. And I am not even an Adele fan.

I found the book readable but, I can't say I enjoyed it much. It was ok however, I did not find it very engaging. I am a fan of Adele and find her lyrics moving.

I gave this book 2 out of 4 stars. There are a lot of issues here that made me uncomfortable and the pedophilia thing seriously freaked me out. It definitely wasn't what I expected and none of the characters have a particularly satisfying conclusion to their stories.

I can also relate to Adele's songs, somehow. God, I keep on reading all these reviews. I should be reading the book and see for myself.
Like you, I keep reading these reviews also - with astonishment. I'm glad I read the book before reading the reviews. I loved it and said so in my review. It is a book that has depths that have to be explored, and I enjoyed the exploratioin.

I enjoyed reading the book and once I started I couldn't put it down. I was intrigued by unusual plot, believable characters and the passages about Morocco. It brought back memories from my travels. It is most certainly worth reading, even though you're not Adele's fan. The lyrics and philosophical ruminations are somewhat irritating, but you can skip that part and keep reading. The book needs editing as there are quite a few language errors and misprints.

I enjoyed the book. I love Adele's music and think that each lyric connected beautifully with the character's story. I was captivated throughout the story because of how different the character's lives were, and the situations they were going through. It wasn't a book I would read over and over, but it was a intriguing read nonetheless. Your review is wonderful though, and honest. I definitely recommended that people that enjoy Adele's music be the audience to grab a copy of this book because of how much of her lyrics were in the book in my review. Well done!

As most skeptics, I was also reluctant to read it because I'm not an Adele fan, but I have no regrets. It's not about romance only, it about everyday life and issues we are all pondering on, including life in Morocco, depicted very well.

I rated the book 3 out of 4 stars. I enjoyed reading the book because it was easy to read, I liked the locations of the 3 stories, and the characters stories. I like Adele and her music far much better than this book
