Oh my gosh, yes! I feel close to any author of a well-written book. When you give an author your trust to lead you on an adventure, it's hard not to feel an attachment to them. That's one of the main reasons I love to read, so I can feel that special bond. :D

I don't really feel closer to the author, but I do feel close to the characters if the book is amazing.

Yea especially if I’ve read several books from the same author. I become more familiar with their writing style and fee closer to them and their experiences.
