I agree! The content is more important than the age of the book.

Old books have wisdom they are tried and tested by the time but the new ones remind of new beginnings.

I support you. I consider a book to be good if it ignites my mind, it activates my brain cells, and it penetrates my heart.

I prefer recently published ones. But a good old book is better than a bad recent book.

As long as the book is good, it doesn't matter at all. I noticed that I like to read books published later than 2010, though, I kind of have a feeling anything before 2000 is ''classic'' and most of those books are just literature for work and studying and not fiction for fun.

I prefer older books. They elicit fantasy and knowledge of past times

I collect old books. I love how a bookcase of old books look, all lined up with their dusty looking covers... but I don't read them. Not my thing. But the new ones seem a little flighty. Random. So many different styles and quality of thought. Some good. Some bad. I guess I go with what most here are saying, I like to read Good books. Doesn't matter the age.

I read both. Fresh ideas are welcome and reflecting on the old also great.

Old books.
I like reading old books as they contains skills and wisdom of the old people they used during their hardship as they help me to make critical decision

I read both new and old books. Some of the newer authors write about topics that directly effect my life. Sometimes the older books cause me to think harder and encourage my imagination about another tine.

For fiction, I prefer older because newer fiction sometimes tends to cater to fads. For non-fiction, I prefer newer because it can build on research done in the interim and explore how attitudes have changed over time.

I prefer to read recent books because there are so many of them out there. I usually don't read the same book twice so Im always on the look out for something new. However, if it's a book that is good but is old, I would probably still read it anyways.

"Read the good books first because there won't be time to read them all". Only too true. During my English course I waded through some of the classics and found them heavy going. Language has changed, although character and a good plot has not. One or two are still among my favourites. I adore going into an old library with wood-panelled wall, balconies with little ladders, leather tomes and that dusty, musty smell of old books. Would I read them? No time.
