You put the words out of my mouth! Yes, respect is reciprocal. It doesn't start on how much you earned or the power you hold. Some people still disrespect someone even with money and power. But with someone who knows the things that he/she capable of, that particular person would just shrug it off and wouldn't care a damn thing.
Power and pride are lovely pearls but it still can't outshine dignity and self-respect.
