I'll weight in by saying that cats are also my favorite (what can beat a soft, cuddly cat purring on your lap, and they don't wake me up at night)! BUT, as far as unusual animals go, I would definitely say the common house gecko (a.k.a. cicak), Hemidactylus frenatus. They are kind of cute in their own way, and I love that they eat so many mosquitos and other bugs!! I even saw one kill a cockroach once, and the gecko was about the same size as the roach! Hooray for geckos!

Ooh -- another cool thing is that these geckos can make their tails fall off as a decoy to get away from predators, and then they grow a new tail!! :o
Littera scripta manet -- the written word remains.

Dogs. I love dogs and they seem to understand humans. They'll look at you with that innocent eyes like it was taking to you. <3

I love rabbits. I also keep chickens but I love the quiet and how peaceful rabbit societies can be. Besides, rabbit stews are delicious.

My favourite land animal could only ever be a dog. Loyal and great friends to their owners. They provide comfort and companionship. And help keep you healthy by getting you off the sofa to take them out for a walk! I have a border collie and they are probably the most intelligent of dogs. They can understand around 250 words the same amount as a 2.5-year-old child.

Horses. I love horses, be they black or white, brown or the unique gold. I love their pride, their beauty, their strength, their patience and how they would always remain an absolute wonder to me.

Cats. They seem to be able to understand what I say. I am not quite sure actually, but sometimes they do listen to me as if they can understand.
