That's great... I wish I had experience with the ocean.Carol Cisne wrote:I didn't read Bluewater Walkabout but I have lived on a ship for a year and half. It was hard (it was a historical vessel, so limited tech and space) and not always pleasant (we had to deal with storms and a hurricane) but overall it was worth it. If I could do it again I would, maybe with proper technology on board (satellite internet and a GPS). I love sailing and I have a great love of old tall ships. Unfortunately school and work prevent me from just going off to sea. I have to settle being within driving distance of the ocean (I would love to have a waterfront house).

I think it would be a great experience for some time but certainly not for an entire lifetime.

I would have to say no to the whole life on the ocean thing. I have no sea legs and have visited an ocean less times than I have fingers. It is amazing to ride on a boat on the ocean, but to live there day in and day out is a whole different thing. I am too attached to my mountains.Preciosonic wrote:Hi,Dearies, having read the reviews of this book,I was both intrigued and bewildered. I can't possibly fit the scenario in my head of a mother on the Ocean with her spouse and growing children and friends, how was she able to survive with the trauma, that I won't know until I read the memoir.
Now my question, if your spouse or spouse-to-be promise you a life on the Ocean, would you agree and why,?
