Both are not ideal but I would choose the sea because I have no experience of the desert.

I can't swim, so it's the sea for me. It's that feeling of being trapped and having nowhere else to go to. You won't be able to sleep or put down your guard in any way, unless you want to die.

As much as both will kill you, i think dessert is crueler. The sea will do it, but slowly.

Marginally the desert. But for me being underground would be far worse than both!

Both are perilous. Neither dessert nor sea is cruel but the danger from the creatures living in them. If you are like me who is not much of a swimmer, let's just choose the dessert. 😄 We will die at the thought of not knowing how to swim in depths even before being harmed by the creatures in it.

I think the desert is more cruel although the sea gives it a run for its money.

OMG! I have just noticed my typo errors. The word "dessert" here was meant to be "desert".

I would prefer the sea. At least it would accept you when you decide it's time to die unlike the desert, it will take longer and will be more mentally escruciating for you in the desert

Do you mean to say, when you're gonna get tired of fighting for your life's safety, you'll just have yourself drowned? :o

Before you die of drowning, you're gonna feel the pain of the sea water getting in your body. Uh_oh

I am sensitive to pain. I could say, both are excruciating. The thought of death makes me cringe.

That's a really hard thing to decide. The lack of water and sun exposure in both situations are deadly. In the desert you could end up walking in circles and not finding any sign of life. You could possibly get water from a cactus but honestly I doubt the things we read in books or see in movies are that easy. There is no shade during the day and at night the temperatures plummet. Sandstorms could end up burying you, but then I'm thinking worst case scenario.

In the sea, there is salt water, so you have to figure out how to filter it or you just end up making your situation worse. If you had the skills and tools you could fish, that is if you have a ship/ something to float on and aren't treading water.

Honestly I'd probably go for the desert because I'm a weak swimmer. But in both situations I don't think I would survive long.

Both are harsh, but I would say the desert is better for man's survival because there are not many dangerous creatures lurking around and one can breath without the need of an oxygen tank. Land is man's natural habitat, the ocean is not.

I think the dessert would be more difficult due to the heat and lack of water and food. In the ocean, if you know how to purify water you'd be fine. You can also catch fishes for food.

Desert. The environment and the feeling of isolation are depressing thoughts I relate to it.

Both can kill a person mercilessly but a person can survive in both conditions with the right skills and supernatural intervention, although i'd rather be in the desert than in open sea. I feel its easier to survive when sharks or fishes aren't nipping at your hills while you're trying to stay afloat.

In my humble opinion, I think desert is crueler as desert are usually lack of food and water. The extreme heat is also another torture.
