I felt the same way. It was a natural place to end the story, and even if there wasn't a sequel, sometimes being able to write your own ending, how you want things to come together, is a powerful authorial tool.

I'm starting to agree with this too. I'm in two minds about the ending. Definitely think after reflecting on it there is a reason for everything.

Exactly! That should give us a better ending in my opinion.

The ending was very steep.

Now that I know there will be a sequel, I am comforted... and eagerly waiting for Book 2. Such a good read it left me yearning for more.

It was so abrupt! I finished the last page and thought, "You've got to be kidding me!" I hated the ending until I learned there will be at least two more books. I can rest easy knowing the story will continue, I just have to be patient.

Sure! I felt the same. The sequel is very much needed!

Cliff-hangers are bothersome but I will likely read the sequel. I wanted more at the ending as well.

I agree with this. The ending was certainly a bit too abrupt. It kind of made it a little disappointing because the book is beautiful in every other way.

I understand that there will be a sequel, but I felt like the entire book was drawn out and full of description except for the ending. I feel as if the author spent so much time on the rest of the book and the ending was just thrown together. It felt,to me, super rushed and ended abruptly. I literally said out loud "That's it?!" when I finished the last page.

I, too, had the same difficulties.

The end of the book was abrupt i really wanted to know if relationships between Tom and Sarah improved.

The ending was too sudden but the book was very good, and since it is a trilogy you can forgive the ending easily.

I couldn't agree more with you. The story ended in a giant cliffhanger. I guess the author has plans for a sequel. I really want to know if Strong Heart's step grandfather pays for his abuse.
