What was your favorite and/or least favorite scene?

I enjoyed when Sarah embraced her art and was able to put her heart into it; this made her more likable for me.

One of the most frustrating scenes for me were when Sarah first began explaining what happened during those eight days. Part of the problem for me was the punctuation issues and how the character perspective switch seemed a bit abrupt. However, that could have been just me as I had a tough time enjoying the read.

Did you have a favorite scene? How about a least favorite one?

My favorite scenes were every scene that was told from Strong Heart's perspective. It was literally the only thing I enjoyed about the book. I found her story extremely interesting and even a little inspiring.

My favorite was the last scene with Lolo (grandpa) Tom-Tom and Apo (granddaughter) Sarah. I don't know if spoilers are allowed so I'll leave it at that.

One of my favorite scenes was when Sarah appeared on Tom's doorstep. It was a strong beginning.

My favorite scene was when Sarah appeared after days of searching for her. My least favorite was probably when she first started telling about what happened to her. I found it hard to follow.

My favorite scene was Sarah throwing the darts at the two guys. My least favorite scene was when they were surrounded by fire, and only half of the people were removed via helicopter. Why didn't they come back for the others? It just seemed irresponsible.

It did manage to grab my attention, and also caused several different emotions.

Her appearance really was pretty dramatic. The author did well with that aspect. I agree that when she began talking about what happened, it was initially hard to follow.

The scene of the darts was striking, pan intended.

I agree it was irresponsible not coming back to them.

Actually, come to think of it that scene was the one that grabbed my attention and persuaded me to give the book a try. Good point! :D

Her throwing the darts was definitely an interesting scene!

Favourite:when Sarah darts the two Buckhorn guys and pinned the two to a tree despite one of them holding a gun , the two had ransacked her teams backpacks and destroyed the spear thrower, cameras and phones.
Least favourite: the plot moves on at a snails pace so some scenes have little or no event, also the book ends unceremoniously

Sarah pinning the Buckhorn guys with the darts was phenomenal. My guess as to why the helicopter didn't come back is that perhaps with all of the fires, they had to go where others were at greater risk.

I got a little tired of the bickering. Maybe it's from being Southern. We are taught to keep quiet and be polite which I admit might not always be the best course of action. At least everyone knew how Myra and Sarah felt about the situation. Lol.

I have to agree with you in this point. The constant bickering definitely got to me. I think there were reasons for both Sarah and Myra to be defensive, but it didn't have to be the go-to response every time.

The ending was a little weak for me. It felt rushed and perfunctory.
