Was I the only one who thought of the book (and movie), "Twilight." The setting was in Washington . There were called the Olympic wilderness and there were also lots of trees...

Sorry random moment though lol

Apologies if this is a double post -I was going to add some photos of the high country of the Olympics, beyond the lush green forests, but the file size seems too restrictive. If you want to ee some shots of the bck country and read some trip reports from hiking back in there, google my web pge Stories made Us Human and then click on Olympic Tales on the top bar, and scroll down. You will see some articles and stories about the Olympics there, especially one thread called Muncaster Basin. Have fun.

Twilight takes place in Forks, Washington. I would say that it is also considered to be part of the Olympic Peninsula Wilderness area.
Twilight was also filmed in and around Forks, so that's another way to see and appreciate this beautiful area.
Technically, Forks is outside the national park, but very close, as you can see here:Image

The Cullens's very own personal hunting grounds.

Though, I would assume, still lots of non-park woodlands!
The Cullens definitely had a great piece of property! I remember loving the scenery of their home in the movie.

I have not visited the place. I thought most of the part was imagination. Wondering if all of it is for real then I want to visit it once in my life.

I always love it when the mode of transport is our own legs. Hiking is always beautiful.

Are there any trails for hike in this area? It looks quite dangerous for a hike.
