I feel like they were very important. They brought colour and a variety of perspective into the plot. Wouldn't be the same without them.

Yes they are important in the story because they did a great part or they contributed great characters to complete the whole book.

I think Tom had gone camping with Sarah without being pushed by others, Tom seemed sort of bloomy about a lot of things and I think William needed them there to help him figure out the reasons....

The relationship with Myra makes possible the second trip, without her Sarah could run away like her mom Becky did before. William makes possible to understand more about the atlatl, his travel to find Alec and Sergei, was important at the end.

William and Myra represent the helpful people around us and teach us the importance of companionship and cooperation, through their characters. William makes valuable suggestions to Tom whereas Myra is so bright as to represent the worth of a side character as a whole! They confirm to me that we all have a social reality and that we need commitment on our part of relying on them in every bit of our struggle for survival.

I didn't see the importance of William and Myra until I read the sequel to Strong Heart. Their story is quite interesting in the sequel and I think they needed to be introduced in this first book so we know who they are when considering to read the second book.

William and Myra brought a lot of insight into the story from different perspectives. Each family has a leader, but the rest of the members of that family (as well as very close friends) have important roles to play out in life.

I think because of William Tom was able to say his mind out to someone because sometimes we need a friend of our age to understand what we are going through and William did it well. Myra on the other hand an important role as she helped Sarah and her skills were helpful for all of them.

I think Sarah was more comfortable with Myra. The way Myra cared for her was really nice. And William was the one who trusted Sarah with her story. So I think they played an important role.

I liked Myra and the support she gave Sarah. William was helpful to Tom but otherwise didn't seem to contribute much to the storyline.

But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead...The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

William and Myra brought a lot to this story that is not only about nature and heritage but also philosophy and the contradiction between the old and the new. I loved their discussions.

William is the one taking crucial decisions in this story for eg, to bring Sarah along for the trekking. Also, Myra supports Sarah all the time. Her banter with others and her witty responses were an integral part of this story.

I think they were important because of the support they gave Tom and Myra. Tom confided in William as his best friend and Myra later became close friends with Sarah.

William and Myra supported Sarah's spiritual awakening. I think they also acted as a type of support system for both Sarah and Tom. They also brought a lot of wisdom and tradition along with them.

Absolutely! Myra was the glue of the group, and she made Sarah feel welcomed from the first time that they met. Myra also led the group out of the burning park with her wits.
