Favorite Part: Past or Present?

Post by Mallory Whitaker »

Which storyline did you like more: the one in the past or the one in the present?

I personally found the parts narrated by Sarah to be confusing, especially at first. It was hard to keep all of the names straight and I really had a difficult time grasping what was going on until they were in the boat. And then they were pretty much always in the boat. That got tiresome for me despite some of the crazy events and the vivid descriptions. By the time I got into it, the first section was over and then I had to wait a while to figure out the rest/remember those names again. I did end up liking it; it at least made me like Sarah a lot more.

So, basically, I liked the present better. I thought the family dynamics were interesting and enjoyed the clash of folklore and science.
