I, too, made up my own ending in my head. It bothers me and kind of drives me crazy to be left with unanswered questions but I tried to make the best of it. Look for the fun in adding your own ending. What else can you do really?

The ending was very abrupt,i didn't feel the suspense of it, i literally felt cut short from the story.

Unanswered questions in the end make the book unforgettable.

I agree, there were a lot of things I wanted to hear resolution to, especially Strong Heart's story. It just kind of ends and I wanted it to go on and have more of a smooth transition into ending.

Well, there are two other books coming in the series. Maybe those issues will be addressed then?

To me the story ended way too soon. I did feel as though there were questions unanswered.

It definitely ended really suddenly. I know that there's a sequel planned and I knew that going into it so I wasn't too surprised but I do wish there had been some more closure. It's a complicated balance when you're working with a series.

I'm torn between a yes and a no. Yes because we didn't find out how the seminar where Sergei was to present went. No, because the major issue of the origin of the natives of North America and the mystery of the atlatl has been solved.

I also felt they were building up to certain things that never came ... but I did already know there was going to be a second book when I got there. I would never say it was a horrible cliffhanger; things were resolved up to a point.
This post was brought to you by the word "specifically".

Yes the ending was disappointing. I also wondered how Ruth was going to react. I wondered also about Myra and Sergei...

I was so disappointed by the ending. I don't take issue with cliffhangers per say but I feel if someone wants to write a series then each novel should have a sense of completion with a bit left over to continue if they so want. This ending felt to me like one long novel that was just cut in half and released separately.

I too was a bit concerned about the ending. I wanted to know more about the environmental issues and I am certainly glad to hear that there is another sequence coming out. I wanted to know more about the bear and the images that Sarah is experiencing.

At first, I thought the book Strong Heart, ended unfinished, but then I saw that both of the storylines ended almost the same where Sarah and Strong Heart are almost at the "marking" place. I think this tells the reader that Sarah and Strong Heart have finally found a family and a people to belong to.
