There are definitely issues when it comes on to believing people younger than you when they tell you about miracles or even just about anything that doesn't normally happen, especially children. On the other hand, people who listen to her story might write it off as just the creative imaginings of a child. If she was an adult they'd probably be even quicker to call her crazy or think she broke mentally.

Her story was incredible enough, but her age and her background didn't help her credibility, for sure. I wonder who would believe a teenager with such a story...

I think someone's age really affects the level of trust. Children and the elderly are trusted less than middle-aged people.

I think her age and other factors like her background might have led to her story not being believable.

Actually, I like Sarah the way she is. It's so nice to see such a playful young mind. And you know, kids can be just as trusting as adults, sometimes even more so.

Sarah is incredibly wise and mature for her age but has she been older people might take her more seriously. Also, she wouldn't have to go to Ruth's and Fletcher's. She could decide for herself where she wants to live.

I don't really have an answer to your question. But I don't think in the current state of the world trust has something to do with age.
