I think the story from Myra's perspective could have been somehow boring and the book could have had very few pages.

Myra didn't go through as much as Sarah in terms of change and finding herself. Unless the story would be twisted around some crux in her life, it would have been pointless to make her the main character.

The book is mostly about Sarah, and Tom is Sarah's grandfather who takes her to the grave of his grandfather. So, it is natural that the story begins from Tom's point of view. However, Myra is an important character I wish we learned more about her perspective.
