What would your Native American name be?

Post by Chelsy Scherba »

Native American names seem to describe a physical or spiritual trait of the person; for example, Thrower was good at throwing weapons, Long-Braid must have had long hair, and Strong Heart had unwavering convictions for her beliefs. Based on this, what would your name be? Would you prefer a name based on your heart or physicality?

I would prefer my Native American name to be based on my heart, because these names have to do with the unique part of the character, if it is based on the heart then the uniqueness of the character is revealed.

I would prefer my name to be based on my heart too. It would seem kind of shallow to be called a name due to a physical trait.

Unless there was something outstanding or unique about you physically, I would think a name based off the heart would be more suitable.

The name I prefer is "Hawk" I chose it because I have some traits of a hawk. And I like those traits.

I would prefer a name with some heart in it. I think mine would reflect my leadership skills and kind nature.

My Native American name would probably be “She who sings a lot” I like to break into song quite often.

My Native American name would describe my heart because I feel that the essence of who I am stems from the inside. I would probably be called Little Mouth because I'm an introvert, and when I first meet someone, I won't say much at all.

Lol! I really love these names! I'm an introvert too, so "little mouth" is a perfect name. "Bespectacled bookworm" cracked me up! Great names!!!

I would prefer my name being based off my heart. I think what is on the inside tells a whole lot more that what is on the outside. Maybe something related to my kind personality, or about my timidness.

I think I would be long braid with my hair or quiet one. Maybe I would also be white feather as a tribute to my gentle nature.
