I hope other parts are highlighted in future.

Terming her as a sex hungry woman would be wrong. She is bold and willing to explore her likings.

I did not appreciate 30th Century Escape at all for many reasons. See my review. Is it the story of a sex-hungry woman. Not at the beginning, but it turned into one. There are almost two halves of the book, as though the author didn't know where to go, hadn't reached his word count and so indulged his fantasies. My own view is that sex scenes need to be relevant to the plot, drive the action forward in some way or reveal a new facet of the character. Certainly the new facet in this case is sex-hungry, but it is not relevant to the plot, nor does it drive the action forward at all. In other words, it doesn't need to be there.

I agree with you. There are times when explicit scenes are relevant to the plot. However, I didn't find that to be the case in this book. I understand that part of the story is about Jennifer finding herself and who she really is, but it got to a point when she was no longer exploring her sexuality. She was just having sex as often as she could with whomever she could. It didn't add anything to her story.

Is part of the story Jennifer finding herself? She is 44 years old, a seasoned commander and has obviously had many lovers in the liberal 30th century. Yes, she is adapting to the 21st century and so keeps her libido in check until she understands the culture, but she knows very well who she is and what she wants. I felt the ending (plot conclusion) was rushed as the author had to conclude in a hurry, a contrast to the long-drawn-out sex stuff. It was all very annoying. Apparently there is a sequel. Help!

The reasoning behind her traveling back to 2015 was to grieve her lost love and to find herself. This may have been lost amongst the unnecessary scenes and rushed conclusion, but that was Jennifer's intent since she had become so lost in her own time.

Yes, I am still trying to understand why the sex scenes had to take center stage of a captivating narrative (at least it was in the first half!). Its almost funny there was no threesome between the twin sisters and Kylee! All the same, after persevering the sex scenes and science jargon, I enjoyed the good twists towards the end of the story.

I was sincerely afraid that love triangle was going to occur, and was thoroughly relived when it didn't!
I'm glad you enjoyed the twists. I'm still debating whether or not I want to read any further in the series.

Yes, the sex scenes almost overshadowed the rest of the story.

I agree, which is too bad. The story had potential. Hopefully the author develops the plot more in future books.

I don't think those explicit scenes were needed at all. I was also fearful that each new character introduced was a potential "playmate." The sex became more frequent than even the meals.

You may want to look into Belle Ami's books. They have been reviewed through this site. I am not familiar with the books myself, but if I remember correctly from the reviews I read, she did a better job with the erotic scenes.

The only scene I feel has any relevance is the first erotic scene with Marty. Don't get me wrong, it could have been left out, but it wasn't as out of place as the numerous other erotic scenes.
