I agree with both of you. I didn't feel like anything substantial really happened...the story arc just wasn't strong enough. Maybe it's stronger in the series overall. But this also doesn't necessarily mean it would be a bad film if the screenwriters were given creative license and allowed to trim down some side plots and soften things up to be a bit more Hollywood/reach larger audiences. Basically, it could use the Forrest Gump treatment. As for actresses, er, I don't know, maybe someone like Emmy Rossum for Jennifer.Christina Rose wrote: ↑19 Nov 2017, 22:32This is probably true, although I haven’t read any other books in the series. I don’t know how well the plot line is developed after the first book, but I’m sure it’ll provide more material for a successful film.Amie Gene wrote:I think this would make a good film if combined with the other three books. The plot would be more developed and I think it would hold the viewer's attention better. I don't think you could make a movie based on the first book alone because there isn't enough going on and there isn't really a large "Oh my gosh" moment.

Which audience would the film makers for the Escape from the thirtieth Century be targeting?
That would form the basis of deciding how to handle such scenes.

That's a really good point. Deteriming the target audience is obviously important for any movie, but I think it's especially true for a story like this one.Paul78 wrote: ↑15 Dec 2017, 22:46 From the few chapters I have gone through, the book can be rewritten into a movie script and acted out. The whole matter in question would be how to take care of the explicit scenes.
