Perhaps it may be read to teenagers by their parents so that they may know about issues like gun regulation and immigration.

I think reading the book to kids is a good idea, but I'd suggest that said children should read the book with their parents? With all the discussion of guns in this book, it's a good idea to have an adult stand by to answer any questions or to make sure that the children are okay with the themes. Of course, every child is different, and some may be more sensitive to the themes presented--so, uh, read it to your kids, but on a case-by-case basis? If you think the child isn't ready, then maybe don't introduce it to them. :)

This book is a no for the kids. The guns are terrifying and it may pose a negative or rather rebellious impact on the kids.

There are many opinions about this but I think that kids (13 and up) should be allowed to read these kinds of books. I mean, censorship brings us nowhere really.

That's good that your family was able to have a meaningful conversation about the issue. I don't like making blanket statements about what's appropriate for what age group, specifically because whether you have open discussion times about what's being read can have such a huge impact on how it affects the readers, especially when they're in the younger crowd.

This book may be shared with kids, but it should be made very clear to them about fact of no undo option after use of guns
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

Ideally, it is up to parents to decide whether their child should read any book. You also have to know the kind of child you're dealing with. Some are young, but are quite mature and capable of understanding complex subjects.

I believe that we cannot censor everything for our kids, but moderation is key, and also gauging their maturity in understanding different topics. Sometimes you have to talk to them in ways that are meaningful to them and then you can come back to that subject with more information and exposure as they mature. It also depends on each child. For example, every 15 year old boy will not be able to emotionally handle or comprehend the same topics. That doesn't mean that you protect them from ever being exposed to it, it just means that you would have to wait to bring it up when they are more mature.

I wouldn't give this book to my child to read. I believe that we become what we read, watch and listen to. As a result, I am very careful about the things I expose my children to. If I want to have a discussion with my child about gun control, I will simply do so without the use of a material like this.

More and more kids need to educated in becoming socially conscious. I think this book might be scary for kids to read and a bit heavy in themes.

I think 16 is a good age, but under supervision to keep the topic open and for discussion with an adult.

The underlying story about guns will not go strongly in to mind of much younger children. Teens may get it but I can remember when I was in my teens, I had a completely different idea about being hostile and using hostility to solve problems. So I do not think they most of them might agree with the real picture which is depicted by this fiction

I wouldn't hesitate to share this book with teenagers who were ready for mature subject matter. It contains a lot of social issues to discuss, besides guns, and would be a good group project.
