So this book sparked a great conversation with my 16-year-old son about guns. He knows the position his dad and I take on the issue, but it was neat to hear him talk it out loud and how his mind was grasping the idea.

I am undecided about if kids should read this book.

I think they can actually give this a shot but with supervision and right guidance from parents or adults who would point out to them the real deal when it comes to gun issues.

This book may just be appropriate for kids, especially boys, because they do love things to do with guns e.g Action movies

To girls, it may not please them since most girls do not love to identify with guns.

I would not suggest this book to kids. However, parents have to determine if this book is appropriate for their child based on their level of maturity. We can not shield our children from everything but we should expose them to the things in moderation.

I would not suggest this book to kids. As parents we need to guide things they are exposed to at such tender age.

I think my two boys could read it. They are 17 and 14. They are pretty mature.

I agree wholeheartedly. I like to introduce topics and books to them myself, so I can guide them through it.

When my son was in the fourth grade, his multi-age class was given The Hunger Games to read. Parents of children in the class under 12 were asked to sign permission for the children to read it. I decided to let him read it, but I read it with him, chapter by chapter, and we discussed it, mostly for me to make sure he was handling it ok. It was a great experience, and we ultimately read all three books in the series and went to see the movie together. I would be comfortable with my kids reading Final Notice, as I have read it already and can speak to it's themes.

I would indeed have a conversation with my teenage son, pertaining to this book, "Final Notice". I can applaud real talk among our young adults. For it is written: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children". Thank you for you input.

I think it's perfectly appropriate for teenagers. It would also lend to great discussions with them.

Interesting... must be regional. I'm in the south. I know just as many women who have licenses to carry as I do men. The women I know do tend to prefer target shooting over hunting.

I wouldn't recommend this book for young children, but your son is sixteen and ready to learn his own truths about life. I think it's good that read the book and came up with his own views on the issue of gun control.
