I felt the entire narrative style smoother. I am no expert in erotic writing but the One and More certainly was a more titillating read.

I actually really enjoy erotic suspense novels, so I think I'd like to give Ami's a try. I like when authors are able to branch out and write different genres.

I don't think I've read any of Belle Ami's other books. She is more of an erotic writer, and that is definitely not my thing. I picked this one up, because I thought she had changed genres :D

With this one it seems like she had a difficult time devoting herself to any one or even two genres. I don't usually care for erotic scenes either, and based on this book, I wouldn't want to read anything classified as erotic by Ami. I didn't care for the way she wrote the intimate scenes between Alex and Angela.

HA! I didn't mind the mixing of genres so much as the erotica. I assume this means that this particular book wasn't even heavy on the romance  So, will pass on any others.

Good point. When readers say "this is light romance" and you are already romanced out, you don't want to know what "heavy romance" consists of. It doesn't even bother me that there was romance, it was just poorly executed. Plus there is a distinction between romance and eroticism so I'd only consider her other novels if they were defined as romance versus erotic.

I guess I consider the style of the story light, as in not being complex. However, the story was definitely heavy on the romance element.

I didn't mean to be misleading. I used the terms light and heavy on in terms of the extent to which romance was included, not to highlight the complexity of the novel overall. I would say it is moderate on romance and low on the eroticism scale and definitely light in terms of the overall read of the book. It wasn't complex and the bad guys barely muddled things up as the really took a backseat. They mystery wasn't at all complicated; the unraveling of it was pretty straight-forward.

The only thing that seemed a little complicated was the fact that the plot was so busy, with many prinicipal characters, settings, genres, and time periods. When a book has different time periods, usually it involves sub-plots that aren't as major. In this book, it seemed like 6 people (3 couples) had a major role, even without counting nasty Scordato and 3 settings had a major role. One thing I found when I read this book for the Official Review is the huge amount of notes I took, as compared with other review books.
