Yes, There are lot of genres in this book. I think historical element is amazing and supernatural elements are also great. I think that the romance scenes are excess which puts off the mystery of the book.

I'm a great fanatic of history. History surrounding the world wars and French revolution just to mention a few. I liked the discussion on world war two.

It didn't bother me that there was a mixture of genres, as it was done so well. If it was a crappy book, that is when I would have been thoroughly annoyed.

I love a mix of themes! It’s something that keeps me hooked to the story. I found it interesting, I don’t think it ruined it. I can understand why it may be a bit overwhelming for others though.

I honestly absolutely loved the blend of genres, as she made them blend so well together. Which leads me to say, not one stood out more than the other. She did a great job of making them all become one. In some cases, a mix of genres makes the genres themselves work against each other, but she really did a great job of making them work with each other.
Honestly, I think the fact that not one genre stands out to me more than the other is because she made them work with and for each other so well.
No complaints here ☺

Yaa, exactly so, Bookowlie. The romantic instances are described in a very lengthy manner and seems unnecessary.

I think the author has amazingly blended the genres. Otherwise, a lot of themes in a single book doesn't mix well.

I like the historical romance and the paranormal themes. I did not like Angela and Alex at all. Like you I thought their romance was rather uninspiring.

The book could be classified as an historical fiction or thriller but the romance aspect was so predominant. It is just a romance fictions. There are a lot of love scenes therein especially between Alex and Angela.

I agree that this book seemed to revolve mostly around romance and it gave it a very cheesy feel. I wanted a lot more of the mystery genre, but it was extremely overwhelmed by the romance aspect of the story. I enjoy a lot of genres, but only when they are equally balanced and make sense together. Belle Ami should work a bit more on blending them together rather than throwing them together and hoping that it works out well.

Maybe if the romance genre was toned down and the mystery aspect was brought about more, then this would certainly be the perfect mix of genres. I, personally, have never had a fancy for books purely about romance, so I do wish that all of the romance was taken down a bit, but maybe the next book in the series will be different.

In as much as many themes are unearthed therein, I think the theme of romance was outstanding. The leading characters are all engaged in a romantic life.

Yes, the book is surely a blend of genres. However, I believe the different themes seamlessly work together.

I think the novel is purely centred on romance and history.
