I think Toni's enthusiasm and willingness to help with whom or what ever is a big part of his personality. I do not think including dislikes would contribute positively to his character development.

I think the book is fine the way it is. It's a children's book. If you make it too long, kids may lose interest.

Throughout the book, the author only speaks about Tony's likes. Had the author broadly described about Tony's dislikes then his charactet would have been broadly described.
